Fukigen na Mononokean (不機嫌なモノノケ庵), localized as The Morose Mononokean in English, is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Kiri Wazawa. It has been published by Square Enix since September 2013 and simulpubbed online by Crunchyroll since July 5, 2015.

An anime series was produced by Pierrot+ which aired from June 28, 2016 to September 20, 2016. A second season aired from January 5, 2019.

Ashiya has spent the first seven days of high school stuck in the infirmary because of a yōkai attaching itself to him. He ends up asking the owner of a small tea room called the "Mononokean" for help. This is a tale involving the very morose owner of Mononokean guiding the yōkai that happened to wander into this world go to the next world.[1]

  • Volume 5 debuted at 34th in the weekly Oricon manga chart in its second week of release with 26,421 copies sold and a total of 39,041 copies sold by November 29, 2015.[4]
  • Volume 6 debuted at 27th in the weekly Oricon manga chart in its first week of release with 32,282 copies sold by June 26, 2016.[5] In its second week, it ranked 42nd with 18,208 copies sold for a total of 52,490 copies sold by July 3, 2016.[6]
